Dear parents, students & other BCESD/CRUHSD stakeholders:

As you may be aware, Governor Ducey and Superintendent of Instruction Kathy Hoffman have extended the statewide closure of schools for the remainder of the school year.  While this includes traditional brick and mortar building classrooms and classes, it does NOT affect our distance or online classes.

Free meals will continue for the remainder of the school year, with some important updated information which will be sent out soon.

No pun intended, this transition is a learning experience for everyone involved: students, parents, faculty and administrators.  Everyone’s patience and perseverance are appreciated as we move forward.  Education will NOT stop during this challenging time.

The Governor’s full announcement is below.

March 15, 2020

Dear Colorado River Schools Families,

In accordance with the directive of Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman, Bullhead City Elementary Schools and Colorado River Union High School District will be closed to students and the public, effective Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.
Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mohave County, we realize there is great concern among our stakeholders about how this could have spread through our schools and ultimately to the larger community.
This is new territory for everyone and we realize that there are many unanswered questions. We are working as quickly as possible to answer those questions with all our partners and resources in the next few days. In addition to closing all schools to students and the public, the following measures are also taking place:

• All after school clubs, athletics, and 21st Century programs are cancelled until further notice.

• All school-related events including athletic games and practices and fine arts performances and practices are cancelled until further notice.

• Preschool and daycare programs are cancelled until further notice.

• We are working on providing food options for students and will provide more information soon.

• District leadership is meeting to define additional details for our staff regarding possible work schedules.

Despite this adversity, we are committed to continuing to deliver high-quality instruction for which CRSK12 is known. Future decisions will continue to be communicated through email, our website, and Facebook. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this unprecedented public health challenge.

Sincerely,
Todd Flora, Superintendent
Colorado River Union High School District

Carolyn Stewart, Superintendent
Bullhead City Elementary School District
