Welcome Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to the Colorado River Union High School District!  Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for a long time like I have, there are always new things to learn about our amazing students, staff and faculty.

Like most school districts across the country and around the world, we’ve faced unprecedented challenges since early 2020.  But CRUHSD families have risen to the occasion, with the goal of returning to normal classes and activities.  Safety and quality academics remain our top priorities on all three of our campuses.

When I joined CRUHSD, the District had just been created and included a 20-year old high school.  Now, almost 31 years later, we have three high schools – two traditional and one non-traditional – as well as a beautiful indoor Fieldhouse approved by voters and the envy of many.  Our high school students come primarily from three “feeder” Districts: Bullhead City Elementary #15, Mohave Valley Elementary #16, and Topock Elementary #12, in addition to several area charter schools.

CRUHSD has programs for college-bound students, plus career-technical education (CTE) programs for those more interested in trades or military enlistment as well as college.  Our close relationship with Mohave Community College even allows some dual enrollment students to simultaneously graduate with high school diplomas and either associate degrees or professional certifications.

Be sure to check out information on this website, or at one of our campuses, about Arizona’s extracurricular tax credit program.  It lets you designate your tax liability for a CRUHSD program of your choice, keeping that investment here – not in Phoenix.

I see only the best for CRUHSD as the District and our community grow together.

With every good wish,

Dorn Wilcox
Interim Superintendent,
Colorado River Union High School District
